New and Improved A*****ose

Well just when I thought that I had the whole A*****ose thing figured out, M****tech went and changed the formula. Introducing “Advanced A*****ose” (I personally prefer “Super Deluxe Improved A*****ose”). If you look on M****tech’s website, you will notice the new product and also notice that they have reduced the cost, well sort of. The associate cost for the new product is $70.00 for a 75 gram bulk container. But let’s look closer at the new product. They have eliminated, entirely, the arabinogalactan from the new formula. In other words, almost fifty percent of the old product is gone from the new formula. The primary ingredient in the new formula – are you ready for this – is gum acacia (also known as gum arabic)! They have also replaced the rice starch with oat bran (although they claim that there are no fillers in this product) and have introduced two other new ingredients, one called brown macroalgae sporophyll and the other xylitol. They have kept the manapol in their product as well as the gums tragacanth and ghatti. It would be interesting to find out the percentages of the new product and whether they increased the amount of manapol and what percent of gum acacia is contained in the product.

Here are some of my thoughts. The product has been reduced in cost, but let’s look at what really is going on here. First, they have reduced the size of the bulk container from 100g to 75g. Second, I know from my experience with researching the components of original A*****ose that the most expensive ingredient was the arabinogalactan. Gum acacia is dirt cheap and is the least expensive of the gums. Xylitol has been used as a sweetener and is also very inexpensive. I went on the web and found 400 grams for about $7.00 in about thirty seconds. I am not sure about the brown macroalgae sporophyll but it is listed fourth in the ingredients so I don’t think it comprises that much of the product. Third, the serving size in the new container is one scoop (.67 gm) with two scoops being recommended on a daily basis. The total number of servings per container is 112 so a container would last approximately 56 days. The old formula (100g) had 228 servings at a quarter teaspoon per serving (.44 gm) with two servings recommended daily. Thus, a container of the old formula at the recommended dose would last 114 days, almost twice as long as the new formula. It is true that the person is consuming more of the new formula (.23 gm more per serving) but who knows if it is comparable in quality to the old formula, which leads me to my final point. Have there been any studies which demonstrate that the new product is superior to the old product! The old product was their flagship product and now it apparently has no merit. There is no doubt in my mind that M****tech had to make the product cheaper to compete with other companies that may be taking a chunk out of their marketshare. But even though the price is down you must buy twice as much product thus resulting in more of a profit to M****tech. Credibility is lacking here people and I wonder if people who have been taking the product with good results will be concerned.

On another note, the thing that truly disturbs me about M****tech is that they have convinced people that they need all of these saccharides when these substances are not digestable and our systems can’t convert them into these saccharides that they claim we need. Many people would probably like to try one or two of the substances like manapol but are afraid because they feel that they will not get all the sugars the other ingredients allegedly provide. To me, that is misleading because it induces people to buy their product based on false statements.
