What are the countermeasures That Can Be Taken?

Somehow, i feel that some countries are not doing enough to combat Sars. I would like to list down all countermeasures I have seen so far during these periods and it would be nice to see some add on along the way. (i base on what i see from the measures taken from Singapore)

Problem 1:
People who arrive back after visiting those highly affected Sars countries are not detected at the airport, etc

Solution 1:
now, there are doctors, nurses at the airport to check on these passengers as they arrive. if found anyone with a fever, they are led to leave the airport through a special path to minimize least contact with others. These people are sent straight to Tan Tock Seng hospital, the only hospital to cater to all Sars patients.

Problem 2:
A person who has contacted Sars can spread to those who has close contact with him

Solution 2:
All people who have contacted a Sars patient would be guarantined at home 10 days.

Problem 3:
The virus is active for around 3 hours before it die. Thus touching anything where a Sars person has touched and you touch your nose, face, mouth, etc can potentially get yourself Sars affected

Solution 3:
The train and bus facilities are doing cleaning every 2 hours to minimize this risk. public is being educated to minimize touching anything and then touching yourself to minimize the risk.

Problem 4:
The most serious countries affected is Guangdong and Hongkong, which are still not under control

Solution 4:
Public advice not to go to these countries.

Problem 5:
People are rushing to buy some chinese medicine they believe can help to prevent Sars. Wrong concept as taking these medicine has different effects on different people. people who are initially weak when took too much of these medicine can even lower that person's immune system, more susceptible to Sars infected.

Solution 5:
public is told by physician on this. i believe most people would know by now

Problem 6:
if a Sars patient is found, taxi drivers who drove these patients to hospitals etc are always wanted through TV, radio. it would be difficult to trace back these drivers.

Not yet implemented:
i believe it would be good if passengers could take the receipt for the taxi ride everytime they took a cab during this period. if it really happens to turn out they are a victim, i believe it might help one way or another to find that taxi driver

Problem 7:
many people are going to hospitals to check up if they are Sars infected.

Solution 7:
public who have not gone to those Sars affected places, not in contact with Sars patients, are told to go to private clinics first if they are unwell. private clinics nurse would ask some qns relating to the patient's condition, then determine if the patient is to be led to a private room to await seeing by the doctor. they would be wearing masks.

Some Comments:
I believe it would be in the best interest for other countries to have only 1 hospital to cater to Sars patients / 1 hospital per state to cater for this. Almost half of the Sars patients in Singapore are personnels working in the hosptials who attended to these patients. Thus, if this is not controlled, the number would continue to increase rapidly.
