Majority of U.S. soldier deaths NOT reported

Of the American military who go to Iraq and do not come back alive, only a very small number of these dead are officialy counted.

When we heard the 1000 had died over there, the actual number was much higher. Its got to do with the way they are counted, what kind of death rates as "killed in the Iraq war".

They don't count soldiers who die in vehicle accidents. One example is when a military truck is hit by a roadside bomb, rolls into the ditch and the occupants die from that, well, its not counted. Traffic accident deaths, of which there are many, are not counted.

They dont count 'friendly fire' deaths.

They dont count deaths that take place when the soldiers are not engaged in an actual 'mission'. When the barracks in the green zone were bombed last week, the dead didn't rate as a 'military' casualty.

Only a very strict defintion is used to rate a military death in Iraq. That is likely a long-help practise from the Vietnam era. Still, it doesn't really give us an idea of "what the cost in human lives" is in Iraq.

If your sons and daughters are sent to the war on Iraq, they can come back dead and not be officially counted as among the Iraq war dead. So how did they die then? As Iraqis? As Americans on vacation?

And how about the America civilian deaths, of those who are working for Haliburton for example?

As for Injuries, they are also not rated as 'war injured' unless they fit that narrow definition where they were actively on a mission.

It seems disrespectfull.
It is propagandist.
We are not so gullable as to believe the numbers, are we? but we did vote for the man in charge, so maybe we do believe what his people say.

And maybe we would have a different view of that ugly illegal war if the real numbers were presented to us before the election..Naa.

This aggression on Iraq has killed wayyyy more innocents [civilians] in Iraq than either terrorists or America combatants.

What number is to high? Of American soldiers, would a million over two years be too many? Or is it a lower number, like 100,000?
I would like to point out that that number - 100,000 - is the actual number of injured, dead, and mentally incapacitated Americans from the iraq war.
The iraqi deaths since the invasion is about double that.

When is it too many? For me, it would be less than what it is now, as a reason to abandon this insane war and let Iraq go it on its own right now, as it is. {and they would o okay if we puled out rith now, nothing moe wil change by staying for another year, two, five years. Nothing will change the fact that there are warlords, land mavons, organised criminals, religious fundamentalists, and plain *%#&¤?§*ed off Iraqis that will be there whenever America leaves.

Whats your best guess for Iraq casualties, from all causes?
For me, I will say:
Total American deaths = 4500.
Total wounded Americans = 30,000.

PS - Iraqi casualty guesstimate:
Iraqis dead = 300,000
Iraqis injured since bombing started = one million!

Iraqis who are living horribly, much much worse than under Saddam = all of them!!
