Oh, the stew is actually more tasty without the garlic, so you may want to omit it. It's just so healthy that I put it in. :)

A sweet potato is a whole meal unto itself and since it's a starch best eaten alone anyway. I like it best with Ghee. Since I'm a Vata I do quite well with butter, which is a good thing because I REALLY like it. :) See if you can find the ones that are yellow when you cut them open, rather than red like yams, altho yams are good too, sweet potatoes aren't quite as ... cloying? :)

That's interesting about brown rice. I tend to not do well with regular brown rice - it constipates me no end - but things made with brown rice, especially this one cereal by Lundbergh, is really great. When I want to eat rice rice I tend to stick to Basmati, sometimes mixed with Wild Rice, which is SOO full of goodness. :)
