Re: Unable to go & frustrated!

Hi, I'm not a fan of the Fleet chemical disposable enemas, but in a case like yours I would encourage you to consider an old fashioned traditional soapsuds cleansing enema to achieve relief from the ongoing constipation problems you describe.

Stir a bar of Ivory soap in a pitcher of warm (just above body temperature, about 100 degrees F) tapwater until the solution is milky, and try to take the full bag. After eliminating, take another full bag of plain tapwater or saline solution (1 teaspoon table salt per pint, or 4 teasoppns for a 2 quart bag).

For those who would say "never use soap in an enema", in cases of stubborn constipation, a soapsuds enema (sse), can significantly enhance the effectiveness. Soap solution enemas have been used in the hospital for generations, and millions of people have had them with no ill effects. However, I don't recommend more than one ss enema in a week, but tapwater and saline solution enemas can be used as required.

Personally, I find the Fleet enemas to be irritating and they have caused very uncomfortable cramping the few times i have tried them. They have also left a burning sensation around my anus. I much prefer my old fashioned enema bag.

Sincerely, Valerie
