Our experience to date
I'm no expert, but I have two sons with problems. One of them has what I call ADHD, but no one has officially diagnosed him yet. The DAN doctor that we are going to right now list it on his diagnoses codes for the insurance but has not "labeled" him yet.
We started going to the doctor in July and she did an organic acid urine test on them and found them to be deficient in several things. She started them on about 6-7 supplements. And, when I go for follow-ups I have to fill out a questionaire of changes that I have noted. I really didn't think that much had changed at first but he is doing things that he had not done before. For instance, he now interacts with the TV by singing, dancing, and answering questions that before he would be in a daze. He has started drawing and coloring with correct colors and in the lines, where before he didn't. I know that these are probably trival to you as an adult, but for a child that should be doing these things and not, it is good to see him doing them now. Something is going on in his head.
Also, my son is deficient in glutathione and has yeast in his gut. All found on the organic acid test. The doctor said that glutathione performs FIVE MAJOR functions in the body. You can buy glutathione cream, I think, without a Rx. The one I use on my sons is by Rx. Also, for the yeast I believe she told me the mega doses of Vit. C helps with that. Also, P5P with magnesium is helpful and just magnesium alone.
I really think there is a chemical nature to ADHD and if you can find the correct doctor, as I have found, maybe you could get some answers.
If you want specifics of what the doctor is doing for my sons and the names of the manufacturers that I get my stuff from, just let me know. It's a lot of info, so I don't want to type all that up if you're not interested, but I'll be happy to do so if you want it.
Blessings and Merry Christmas!
