Re: Lori going deeper on thoughts
Good morning, Anthony
Yes, intention is the key. I wanted to mention somewhere in an earlier post but lost track of how to bring it up.
That is what saves me many times: intention. What do I want? What is my goal? What is my broad intention? And it is always one of truth and love. My response may not be to those ends, and I may get sidetracked for days on end, but when I remember my intent, it helps.
You know I didn't understand this concept a few years ago: that the intent will be manifested. Just people don't always realize what they're true intent is. Putting on a smile when you are cursing them under your breath, as you say. Now I see, you can want something but the underlying intent is what will determine your direction.
To go a little further, a lot of times our ego is in control and its intent is manifested, rightly so. That's OK too. All part of the experience. Now to bring it back to balance.
That's the difference you and I and countless others contemplate: which intent will we follow. Great thing is we have a choice and can change.
Personally I don't agree with bashing the ego into submission, this is the same approach as the ego/old law. As I'm sure you've heard this spiritual truth in one way or another:
To solve any problem, a lasting solution may be reached when approaching it from a higher level than the problem occurred.
I always take this to mean higher level = spiritual.
Sometimes it's hard to get past the ego and see from a spiritual (heart) perspective but this practice is truth.
Love
Lori
