The questions you asked are also your answers, except that it is not just one of our other lifetimes, but all of them that we live simultaneously. All lives are stagged together, but kept from us through a "veil of ignorance." This veil of ignorance is thinning now which allows us to more and more consciously live in the other dimensional aspects of ourselves as well, and without creating too much confusion or conflict within. We are not just the three dimensional physical human we seem to refer to us "I" when we live on this planet, but we are all our past, present and future higher and lower frequency selves. When the bible says we are the children of GOD, it means we are the infinite expressions of the infinite reality that holds everything together throughout the infinite number of dimensions. Thousands of years ago we have lost our ability of telepathy and time travel, moving freely back and forth in time and in and out of dimensions, something most of us can currenly do only during our sleep/dream states. But every moment a new child is born with telepathic gifts (and there are so many now), the collective consciousness moves up a nodge in frequency, allowing more and more of us to access our old gifts of telepathy and time travel. Whatever we seek to become we already are, we just don't know it yet. As telepathy and time travel will become part of life on earth, people won't misunderstand one another anymore and conflict with cease to exist.
Yes, we constantly converge with other lifetime experiences. Why do people feels such strong sense of going to certain places, far away from home? Because they feel home sick, wanting to go back to what still is home in another parallel timeline (past life). Why do get people suddenly want to be around certain people they meet? Because they connect with them in parallel lifetimes of what we call past incarnations. The attraction is an old one that now recurs. How often do people say something like, "he/she feels as familiar as an old pair of shoes?" So yes, we all live different realities, but don't realize that they are all mixed up, overlap. This will all change, though, and we will experience life in a very different way than before.
