Re: Blastocystis hominis
I'm glad that this
parasite is being discussed as I had a Great Smokies diagnostic test and lots of this turned up in my stools. After I found this out, I cut out all grains for at least 4 months and followed a protocol from the Biamonte Center. Unfortunately, it did not help the problem. I lost too much weight from the loss of the grains and everything else that you are supposed to avoid on a "caveman"
parasites diet. Recently, I put them back in and don't feel any worse and I think don't look so skinny. So who knows? If I see another specialist and they prescribe different treatment and they say cut out the grains, then I'll give it a try. But the one I tried didn't work.
I will be doing the
Hulda Clark parasite and
Liver Cleanses soon. I think this may help and shall also try the Oregano Oil eventually probably. Blasto is also supposed to be sensitive to Berberine (found in things like goldenseal). I live in London and recently went to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases to see a parasitologist there who is supposed to be at the top of his field (frankly I have little faith in the medical "profession" knowing or doing anything for parasites). Anyway, he has done a myriad of tests to find out what is inside me. He says that blasto is a "peculiar" organism and said that if that is all that's in me, then he probably won't treat it as it's not usually treated in Britain! He suggested that possibly the problems I'm getting from the
parasites (such as brain fog) are possibly caused by my thyroid! Frankly, I think this is rubbish (the guy also told me it's ok to eat honey! pure sugar). However, the tests were free so even if his advice is useless the results could be valuable. If I learn anything valuable, I'll post it here.
