MUST READ: 30,000 people infected with new parasite. Read research report

This is really awful stuff, I guess it is a good thing for everyone to be aware of what it is. Afterall, there are 30,000 people infected and the numbers are growing and no one knows how they got this. Something has gone wrong in our environment.

As you can see doctors think we are all nutts. I have considered going on psy. drugs and I wish I had a psy. disorder instead of this stuff. I thought I should go on the drugs to help me COPE with everything so am doing St Johns wort instead.

Here is what that board sent me personally.

One question from you before you read this and that is
do you think the zapper from DrClark would work?

Ok here it goes and you can read it. I am sending this all to you because of your concern for people, as your e mails reflect this. Maybe you can make a difference in someone's life because of this knowledge.

Great News to report!

The NPA (National Pediculosis Association www.headlice.org) published the Oklahoma Study this month, August, 2004 and it verifies that we are not delusional. Visit this link, print out this study and take it with you to your doctor. We are sincerely greatful Deborah Altschuler and the NPA for working on this problem and getting results. Please register with NPA while you are visiting their site. Lois - NUSPA (see Tips below)

TIPS - USE ALL TIPS AT YOUR OWN RISK

Neither NUSPA or any individual associated with NUSPA
accepts any responsibility or liability for any harm
or damages to either persons, washers/dryers or
anything else that may result from your using these
tips. These tips have been compiled from people who
have this disorder and felt these tips were helpful in
some way.

These tips are NOT intended to be a recommendation for
use from NUSPA nor is NUSPA validating the safety
and/or effectiveness of these tips. Use all
tips/remedies you may find contained herein with
extreme caution and at your own risk. Check with your
doctor about any possible side effects or toxic
effects, before trying these or any tips you may find
posted on the NUSPA message board.

Thank you for contacting us. I'm sorry to hear that
you may be suffering from this disorder.
If you have not yet seen a physician for this
condition, we urge you to do so at once. Rash's and
other skin problems can signal more serious
diseases, these need to be ruled out before thinking
one has this disorder.

As you may or may not be aware, we at NUSPA feel
strongly that the environment plays a significant role
in causing re-infestation. And re-infestation seems
to be a major factor in the continuation of this
disorder.

It also appears that pesticides to date, are powerless
against this "critter", so we strongly recommend that
the use of Lindane and other pesticide products be
stopped at once and avoided all together. Constant use
of pesticide preparations can be very harmful. In
addition we discourage the use of "herbal remedies"
these too may be harmful and don't work for this
disorder.

Having said that, all I can do is pass on to you some
things others are doing to try and combat this
disorder as much as possible. Many say these things
work very well.

FOR THE HEAD AND SCALP:
Some folks say that if you mix one cup of white
distilled vinegar with normal amounts of shampoo, pour
on head, work into a lather, wring off excess and wrap
head in paper towels, works very well. They say this
mixture should not be left on no longer than ten
minutes and you should rinse well. Vinegar should
never be used on the skin, or near the eyes, it burns
and it may be harmful.

FOR THE BODY:
Some people are using Anti Bacterial soaps. However,
there is now some evidence that constant and overuse
of antibacterial soaps may be creating resistant
bacteria, or "superbug." Antibacterials also contain
Triclosan, listed by the EPA as a pesticide, but
regulated and approved by the FDA for consumer use in
a variety of home, soap, toy and even dental products.
So check with your doctor and do some web researching
on your own about these products before trying them.

When you do your search, try to find sites that offer
safety and hazardous information and use good
judgement before using anything listed here or on our
message board.

Some people also say a complete body shave, except for
the scalp, seems to work extremely well. But if you
have lesions that are infected or if you suspect
infection may be present, shaving the area is not
advisable.

FOR THE BEDDING:
Some say to replace all bed pillows, then place
mattresses and new pillows in vinyl coverings, except
those belonging to young children.

FOR THE LAUNDRY:
Many people are adding bleach. According to a hospital
laundry contacted by someone in our group who says
this is somewhat effective, clothes, linens, etc.,
should be washed the way you normally would, then
refill the washer adding 4 cups of bleach per small
load, and soaking for an hour or so, should be helpful
in killing most organisms. However, some clothing and
fabrics appear to be so infested that they may just
have to be replaced. The bleach in laundry does seem
to have a positive effect, according to those who have
tried it. Be sure to rinse SEVERAL times to get all of
the bleach out of the clothes. However, bleach should
never be used on the body, it WILL NOT work and can be
harmful.

Some say for colored clothes, a pure vinegar soak
overnight, with distilled white vinegar is also said
to be very helpful. Clothes should be washed and
rinsed, before soaking. Items should be soaked in a
plastic container to protect your washer.

FOR THE CARPETS:
Some have replaced all carpeting with linoleum, if
that isn't possible for you then vacuum, vacuum,
vacuum and throw the bag away...if you have pets, a lot of
people put them outside and keep them there, animals
carry mites, worms and other organisms that may be
passed to humans.

Some folks recommend steam cleaning carpets with the
hottest water available.

For best results, most people say everything should be
done consistantly.I wish had more to offer you. Please know that there
is limited research ongoing and we will keep you
posted with any new information.

Last and certainly not least, pray!

FYI, a few people in our group have tested positive for Lyme disease (LD) Lyme Disease is a serious and potentially life threatening disease. LD is contracted after having been bitten by a wood tick. Contact the Lyme Disease foundation (LDF) or the American Lyme Disease Foundation, for current, accurate information and recommended testing and treatment for this disease. www.lyme.org Some popular Lyme tests are not recommended by the Lyme Disease Foundation, the CDC or the American Lyme Disease Foundation. The LDF is the only organization that has been researching lyme for sixteen years. They are also the group that first discovered lyme. Please check with one of these groups before testing. Thank you.
