I wasn't hungry during the fast. There were times that I wanted food, but I really wasn't crampy hungry at all.
When I felt hungry at all I would drink some homeade vegetable broth or drink some more water. I found that when I got off track and took the next shake later than I was supposed to, I would get a little hungry after that, so try to keep to the schedule as much as possible.
This was my first fast as well, and I was amazed that it went as well and was as doable as it was. Day 5 I felt a bit week but then I knew it was almost over. After it was done, I felt an amazing sense of accomplishment and feel good at the rope after rope that I got out of my body.
It's a week later, and you do need to be sensitive to what you eat after the fast. Listen to your body and think mild. Anytime I eat anything not too healthy now, my body tells me. I don't get sick, but it just doesn't feel good. I think that is a good side effect, the fast made me more in tune with my body's needs.
