Beautiful day!

Okay you guys...it's all about the little things, right?

Well...I was waiting outside my building, in the middle of the city for my friend to pick me up. I was standing there with a picnic basket filled with hot tea, extra sweaters and a toque when...this seagull swooped down close to my head. It caught my attention, so I continued to watch it, bemused. It started flying in this repetitive pattern - and I was at the center. After a few swoops I began to realize what was happening....and stood there in absolute awe. The seagull was flying a figure 8 above me!!! It did about 12 figure 8's. I am totally serious here, you guys!!! It would swoop up and catch the air in this tottering way in the middle of the street....then swoop down to about 10 feet above my head...then behind me it swoop around and back to me again...it repeated this over and over again until I had little tears in the corners of my eyes....it was just tooooooooo much...as the meaning slowly dawned on me...over and over again it made this figure 8 above me, so close to me...it was really overwhelming. Hard to describe, but very profound. I felt very blessed.
