Re: It Has Begun
That reminds me of an experience I had in June, also in Canada. I was in Saskatchewan, a town called Cudworth. It is so small the whole town is about 2 blocks wide by 2 blocks wide.
I was with my grandparents and aunts and uncles at their farm as there was a wedding the next day. I was in the middle of reading out loud a church bulletin from the 1800's about the death of my great great grandfather. The lights went out. Instant blackness (no streetlights, no nuthin'). I joked that it was just our dear relatives saying hello and that they were glad we visited them at the graveyard that day for the first time. Nervous laughter.
Then the lights went back on. I got to the last sentence and they went out again. This time, they stayed out, and we had this huge electrical storm begin. I had to drive the van back to the little hotel "in town", and there was lighting and big warm fat drops of rain everywhere. It was pitch black except for the lightning. The lighting was amazing and went on all night.
The power stayed out all night too, which had never happened before and we learned that the outage had even taken out parts of Saskatoon. One thing about prairie power outages is that all the water systems are wells that run on electricity so that means no running water and no toilets. (My poor auntie Pam was about hysterical and screaming something about taking their car and driving all night to get to a #$!*^%$ blow dryer and a ^*%!!^** Starbucks. Poor Auntie Pam was not good at roughing it).
The power went back on the next morning in time for the wedding. After reading that channnel though and hearing your story, it really made me wonder though.
Blessings,
Ali
