Re: Recipe and zapping
Shortcake Dough
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
4 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon apple juice concentrate
(I use a few drops of stevia instead)
melted butter
approximately 1/2 cup milk
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Add flour, salt, and baking powder into large mixing bowl and cut in the butter. Add sweetner, then enough milk, stirring quickly with a fork, to form a dough which is soft and light, but not sticky. Turn dough onto floured surface and knead for about 20 seconds, or until dough is smooth. Roll out to about 1/2 thick, you can leave it one large piece or cut into triangle servings. Brush top of each piece with melted butter and bake 15 to 20 minutes until risen and golden.
Joe, what color is your liquid stevia? Does it look like the color of tea or is it clear? Today I made a cherry pie with my stevia (it is clear) and used a teaspoon and a half to sweeten a
quart of very tart cherries. I kept munching on the cherries and the sweet taste stayed in my mouth for hours, even through drinking water, till I ate some peanut butter. I used to have the "tea" looking stevia (made from the whole leaf, whereas the clear is just the sweetest part of the plant--the steviasodes) and it did not have the same effect, plus would have a bit of bitter aftertaste if I put too much in anything. Maybe the clear would work better for you? Also I was interested in how long you are zapping for? Using the 7/20/7/20/7 method or Hulda's updated directions of an hour at a time? I think you might get better results doing the hour each day. It is fairly easy to get in by sitting and watching a favorite show on television or listening to an audio book. :) Good luck!
