Schizophrenia

I am writing you Lillian and Bob first, to thank you for this wonderful web site. Educating instead of Medicating is an idea that I have always considered a "no brainer". Kind of like common sense. But you have to do your homework a take charge of your own health. That may require making sacrifices to a life style that is unhealthy, no matter how much you like it.

I have a sister who has had schizophrenia since she was 14, which was brought on early by my fathers death in an automobile accident. She has been in and out of two state institutions for the last 35 years. She is now in a halfway house (closer to my home) where they teach them personal hygene and many daily chores that we take for granted.

I have always wondered about Schizophrenia and its cause. The body has its' own ability to heal which is in our DNA. This web site has sparked a renewed effort to research Schizophrenia on a nutritional level. Nevertheless, if the genes are bad, then the healing process is not always there.

I am aware of John Hammel and his web site, President of International Advocates of Health Freedom, located in Virginia, www.iahf.com. I wanted to write you to see if I could possibly get some more information from another perspective. Any information you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.
