ovarian cyst and fibroids

Hi, I didn't know if I should post this on this forum, or the Female Forum only....so I figured I'd post it here, I hope that's o.k. I am dealing with an ovarian cyst and a few fibroids. I am totally new to this site, but a friend of mine is always on your site, and she told me I should use a "castor oil" pack on the cyst and fibroids. does this sound familiar to anyone? what is a castor oil pack? She explained it, but I want to know if anyone else has any ideas about this. Would this really help me? how? The cyst doesn't really give me to many problems, although sometimes it acts up and gets a little painful. My family dr. said an ovarian cyst can cause a lot of very heavy bleeding during your period, which is exactly what's been happening. (which is becoming a little scarey - but he says not to worry because cysts cause this). Is this true?! I've never heard that. Well, anyway, castor oil packs are supposed to help with this? Is this in any way dangerous? See, I just don't understand how they work? wouldn't my dr. have told me this? thank you very much! Tweet
