bad cough!

I am getting over a bad cold, but this cough just goes on and on!!!!! It seems that there is constant mucus forming in the bronchial tubes and even though I can cough it up from time to time, there's still more! I can breath alright, but I can hardly sleep because of the constant cough! I can feel (and hear!) the "rumbling" in my chest of all the mucus in there (when I cough)- what can I take to stop this insanity! There must be something to dry this up! something that'll work fast! thank you Tweet
