After reading your post, I went out and bought some organic coconut oil. I bought it primarily for skin care, but was delighted to discover it stays stable at higher heats. Now I can enjoy my one of my favorite Southern treats, fried sweet potatoes, without worrying about trans fats and unhealthy oils. But, back to the skin. I love the way my very dry legs and arms feel after a skin brushing, shower, coconut oil massage. Yesterday I rubbed some oil on my face. To my amazement clogged pores around my nose and on my forehead opened up and hard little lumps of dried matter popped out. I was worried about putting pure oil on my oily T zone, but it improved my skin in a matter of hours. From now on, coconut oil is going to play a huge part in my skin care routine, face and body. The fried swe'taters may have to wait.
