I think it was a precurser to the coming of Muhammed, peace be upon him. ( a prophecy )
In the new Testament, it could be the "comforter". Christians say it was the Spirit who will come, but the Spirit ( Angel Gabriel ) was already in force, sent with Jesus, peace be upon him as well.

So all traces of the last prophet to come have been marked over, looked over, edited from scripture. There used to be hundreds of gospels, yet only four now remain, interestingly, these few are authored by unknown men. They are not known, not even four. Is there something to be hidden?

Also in Islam, it is held, that all souls were created before they took their turn into entering this earth.
