There is no known acceptable religious opinion or unacceptable opinion on this ignorant practice.

There is a very famous hadeeth ( saying of the Prophet ) that he who kills himslef in this life will be punished in hell by what he killed himself with for example, if he hung himself this will be repeated over and over again in hell.

It is VERY clear in Islam that suicide and the killing of innocents is evil and HEll is the punishment.
