Re: all religions have a ton of similiarites
I have been waiting for a balanced discussion about Islam's wars against tyrants. I am on the side of the oppressed, that is the Arabs, generally in anyplace with oil.
I have read the rest of this thread, and the same old things showed up - "what do you expect if you throw stones" - that excuse for blasting arabs is just so wrong [good reply to that Logger].
Forgettting the past, we just have to look at the fundamentalist govt. warfare of GW BushCo. to know that a lot of the reason for war is genocide [what do you call it when it is about religion and not a nation?] of Islam. Christians have fears about Islam taking over the world; islam is the only religion with increasing numbers. Christains are looking more and more like sore losers bent on destroying whatever else people are turning to....
Personally, I think Islam is just as bad as Christianity in the way the practitioners are manipulated by fear, by social pressures to conform, and so on. They both have invented some god that they call the creator, thusly taking away from nature it's role in our lives, and that is a great loss spiritually, scientiffically, and socially.
Religions of any kind have proven to be the source of wars and conflicts.
Conspiracy to keep the masses weak works through religions - all of them.
It is the little guys, the middle class and the poor, that are the real losers in religion. Yet, they have little choice but to conform in order to survive.
Others [more wealthy] have more resources, and are typically not as involved in religions. That shows how the poor can be controlled this way..
This is my first post to the Islam debate forum, I hope I didn't ruffle to many feathers or offend anyone personally.
Does anyone argue that religions, Islam included, have a ton of similiarites?
