Re: Is hell a myth? What is your take on it?

hi rudy...

i believe in heaven and hell... and you... my friend bring heaven to earth... for heaven is simply allowing a loving God to be a part of ones life... and hell...on the other hand would be the absence of God... there are so many people on earth today that are in literal hell... (and they don't have a clue)... they live their lives driven by an insane... insatiable... wrathful... hate filled... condemning... judgemental... very negative... very insecure "ego"... which is totally driven by thousands of fears... isolation... and insecurities... therefore... a most simple... yet true equation is as follows...
know God = no fear... ("God" minus "ego" = "LOVE")
no God = know fear... ("ego" minus "God" = "fear")

when saying the "lords prayer" ... rather than the traditional "lead us not into temptation (for i really can't picture God leading us into temptation) but deliver us from evil"... i prefer to say...(not my original idea...i adopted it from someone else) "LEAVE" us not in temptation... but deliver us from "EGO"... it certainly makes better sense to me that way... i can't help but believe the interpretations of the bible have in many ways distorted it's true meaning...

i cannot bring myself to believe in some of the discriptions of God in the bible... i believe God loves us all UNCONDITIONALLY... God doesn't love us because we are good... He loves us because He is good... God is LOVE... pure... undefiled... never changing...always constant... LOVE... it cracks me up when i hear religious people speak of the "wrath of God"... of a "rigteous... judgemental God"... i beg to differ...

we are spiritual beings having a human experience... and as such we are given free will to do as we wish... which means there are consequences for our thoughts and actions... "karma"... the "ego" is judge... jury... and excutioner... the "ego" judges... criticizes... condemns... and executes according to our actions... and it generously will do the same for others as well... for the "ego" seeks to play God and seeks to create it's own version of a perfect world... if only the rest of the world would listen to the "ego" and play their part as the "ego" wishes they would (control) then all would be well... yet all the while God simply LOVES us... and wishes the best for us... this is why life is "hell" without God... for the "ego" creates it's own "hell"... God LOVES unconditonally... God forgives... God does not judge... God does not condemn... God is incapable of "hate"... how can one ever think of defiling Gods pure "LOVE" with such negative emotions that can only stem from the "ego"...??? and here's the hoot... i mean hilarious... "THE EGO DOES NOT EXIST"... the "ego" only exists in ones own mind... it is merely a character part that one strives to present to ones "self" and to others... the "ego" see's itself as seperate from God... but the real "Self"... the inner-most "Self"... knows the KNOWER... to KNOW the KNOWER is to KNOW LOVE... the most exciting... exhilerating emotion one can ever experience is LOVE...

a few quotes that have meant much to me...

"neither a borrower... nor a lender be... to thine self be true"... "shakespeare"

"greater is he that conquers himself... than he that conquers the world"... "???"

"we has met de enemy... and dey is us"... "pogo"

"relieve me of the bondage of self that i may better do thy will"... "AA" p63

"it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood boys and girls"...
"mr. rogers"...

lol...
;-)
