Re: dangers of fundamentalism

I knew a man for a short period of time that was here on scholarship for college studies.

i only knew him as acquaintance, but he was Arab and Muslim
and one of the few truly delightful people i have met in my life.
he openly discussed his religion without negating the rights of others
and shared with me alot of his experiences growing up from childhood to man.
I learned a greater appreciation for the muslim people because of his stories and sharings.

i believe with all my heart no matter what that WAR is wrong/
i know in all walks of life /especailly in religions / there are so many that abuse the power and interpretations

i believe any country has a right to defend itself.

just as much as i am appalled by *terrorist* activity by some
we must also realise that teh actions of a few do nto equal the summation of a people as a whole.
i am so saddened by the *terrorists of my own country *
also / and can only hope that many Arabs realsise that not all americans are in agreemet with the current activities goign on at all 8(
it tears my heart apart truly that my country has participated in these things.. towards many innocents/
creating hatreds.. where it was supposed to be to help restore
dignity to a nation.
we ar eso quick to point to Arabs/ yet we ahv evilence rampant in our own streets woemn raped whiel folks listen to the screams out sid e ther doors
i think if we really wan ted to make a WAR on terrorists , we would have doena ggo dthign by starting withing and makin ou rown child ren safe /
instead of bombing those of another nation and difference of religion.
perhaps thsi is out of context..
bu ti think the base core of it all is in the roots of religion/
and the genocide of opposing religions.
yes Saddam was bad/ ok we got him out..
the mission was completed..
yet we have nto withdrawn..
instead have becoem a invadign force.
and worse decdign for your nation what sort of *muslim *
leaders WE will approve * befo rewe leave.. *(
this is NOT freedom of religion or of righ tto choose in a democratic governmetn..
