I had a root canal performed on Monday 7/12. The reason was for a cracked tooth. Before the root canal, if I chewed on the side of the cracked tooth, sharp pains would travel from the rooth, into my jaw. The tooth was crowned after the root canal. I still cannot chew on that side. If I try, I get the same sharp pain sensation right where the crack was in the tooth.
Is this normal after a root canal? Perhaps is it caused by all the trauma the tooth has been through?
How long did it take for you to "heal" from your root canal? How long did you experience pain when eating? How soon could you chew on the side of the mouth that had the root canal?
I know it has only been a few days, but I can't help but worry. Thank you!
