You're probably right, they might just have to file it down. I'd rather fill the chip than remove natural tooth material though (the chip made a V shape hole so it is as deep as it is shallow). I just don't want any chance of a slippery slope situation where the dentist removes too much natural tooth, which leads to other problems down the road.

Maybe I'll file it down myself. I've got an awesome set of tools...
