Loving the Kudzu Sobriety!
Hi Everyone, just wanted post my praise of Kudzu Root extract! I've been using Planetary Herbals brand called "Kudzu Recovery" which has the kudzu as well as a bunch of other liver-support herbs mixed into capsule form.
Aside from a relapse probably induced by adrenal fatigue (as a result of a severe immune response to poison oak, all over my body), I've been doing fairly well with kudzu for the 3 months or so that I've been taking it. My booze relapse was a Friday night drunk episode 2 weeks ago. I was conscientiously taking kudzu that day, but apparently my body was too rev'd up from fighting the poison oak infection for the kudzu to do any good.
But I've been sober for 2 weeks since then. So I can say accurately that in the past 12 weeks, I've only gotten drunk once. For me, that's a new record, and I can't wait to beat it! I couldn't have done that without kudzu, and I'm not ashamed to say that. One thing that I like about the kudzu (in addition to the sobriety that it engenders) is that when taking it during moments where I know I'll be tempted to drink, it totally removes the nagging alcohol-obsession from my mind. I totally enjoy FORGETTING that I'm an alcoholic. This is the closest I've ever been to feeling just like a regular guy, and not an addict.
My doctor gave me steroid meds to suppress my body's immune response to the poison oak, but as a result, my liver apparently got clogged up again, and I've been having (and giving in to) severe cheese and meat cravings for the past couple of weeks. This weekend I did a
Liver Flush and passed 800+ stones, most of which were teeny, tiny tan-colored ones. My earlier flushes produced green stones, big and small, so I suspect that most of that tan stuff was proably drug-metabolites from the past few weeks. In any case, I'm just resting up today.
In my limited time as a sober adult, I'd most definitely recommend
Liver Flushing and kudzu to anyone who is not interested in the AA mumbo-jumbo.
