hi rudy...
my condolences... and i beg your fogiveness for my hasty previous post... i later read your post from three months ago... and you did state alcoholism is a "spiritual disease"...
i too know the pain of losing loved ones... and the horrors of alcoholism for the ones such as you and i that sit by helplessly and watch those we love perish... i'm not sure but i think the pain is a necssary step in ones spiritual developement... i think of life as being like a rubber ball... the harder one is thrown against the ground the higher one rebounds... it is said in AA that "pain is the touch stone of spiritual growth"... somehow we are made stronger by enduring... the quote below is one of my favorites...
****************************************************************
English romantic William Wordsworth's
Ode on Intimations of Immortality
from Reflections of Early Childhood,
some of which is quoted here:
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass,
Of glory in the flower
We will grieve not, but rather find
Strength in what remains behind.

may we always walk together along lifes spiritual path...
