A combination to consider...
I've had severely dry skin all of my life. My legs looked like a snakeskin bag until recently. Not even prescription medications helped me. So for years I just suffered instead of using medication. I believed that my skin would just have to look ugly for life. My face was very dry, but oddly I would have constant breakouts. So I couldn't treat my spots with
Acne meds because they would cause sores on my already overly dry skin, and every spot would leave a blotch.
I have tried some of the other forums, and things have definitely improved. However, what I have found to be most helpful has been mineral balancing. What has had a most profound effect on the dryness however has been balancing 4 different minerals. Calcium, magnesium, zinc, and potassium. The addition of potassium has been to me the last piece of the puzzle. Zinc and potassium does amazing things for the skin both in healing and in normalizing. Both can be tested using a taste test of a solution in water for each. And I know that with both, my body responded within days if not hours.
I mention all of this because I had begun to develop peeling in the corners of my mouth and darkening skin in the same areas. It did not respond to any of my lip balms and oils. After adding the potassium, it seemed to jump start the zinc. The next day after I washed my face, I was able to gently rub my moist skin with my bare hands, and dry skin just rolled up and fell off. It was incredible!
Now I know many of you have tried everything, and I can't say that this is your answer, but if you decide to try just the zinc and potassium(I just buy a $2 can of 'salt substitute' for the potassium) you may be surprised. Zinc is vital for skin healing, and potassium allows nutrients to pass into and out of the cells. Both seem vital for cell nutrition and turnover.
