If it carries on for years, the effects will start to become more noticable. Dry brittle hair, loss of muscle, a drawn, pale face and lack of energy and stamina. I suppose it depends on the extent of the problem, your eating habits the rest of the time, and how often you binge and purge, but it can be very addictive, depending on your state of mind, and what else is going on in your life. Bulimia can take many different forms, I've had several of them over the years.
At this point, I have it under control (most of the time), but suffer from the after-effects that its taken on me, IBD, anaemia, poor teeth, and a feeling of being strange. If you can put a stop to it now, please do. All the best.
