Do these people from your work look like the picture of health to you? If not, then don't take any advice from them.
If you think you need iron (if that is why they are reccommending red meat), then just eat more leafy greens or get a good green-food supplement (I like Dr. Schultze's).
I do like the cayenne pepper suggestion also, great for circulation.
FinallyFaith had a great way of taking more cayenne without having to taste it; blend some with organic blackstrap molasses or raw, organic honey and put in on a spoon and swallow it down with some lemon-water - very mineralizing as well.
