Re: Alternatives Please Help!!

Oh that's a shame about the enzymes! If you visit the Autism/mercury group I mentioned in my first post, they may have more advice about other enzymes for very sensitive people. They're dealing with Autistic children who can be extremely sensitive to things.

How much ALA, DMSA and DMPS were you taking? Cutler recommends that if you really cannot tolerate these after REPEATED trials using those three chelators (along with other supplements mentioned in his book) which are his recommendations for chelation (in VERY small doses eg as low as 12.5mg) then and only then does he suggest trying cilantro (which like ALA seems to cross the blood brain barrier and chelate mercury from the brain). However not enough is known about how cilantro so you have to be really careful.....some people do benefit from it though.

He advises against using chlorella which isn't a proper chelator and can do more damage through redistribution of the mercury. I don't know if chlorella can be contaminated with nickel but I've heard some brands can be contaminated with mercury.

Visit http://www.acu-cell.com ...there's a lot of info on minerals and toxic metals/minerals (go to "acu-cell nutrition" and click on nickel). There's info on what is antagonistic to it eg zinc so you could try supplementing with that. It does mention that nickel is found in some dental materials. I doubt whether all composites have nickel....I have composites and I don't think they contain nickel (though I do actually elevated nickel too as shown in a hair test!). According to Andy Cutler, elevated nickel is associated with mercury toxicity.

Correcting mineral imbalances can do a lot to restore health so having a hair analysis test is very useful to see what minerals you may need to supplement with....this may well help with a lot of your symptoms. Doctor's Data Inc or Trace Elements Inc labs are recommended.

Also just one other thing, it's important to be able to sweat when using FIR (Far-Infrared-Sauna) saunas, otherwise there's a potential for mercury to be stirred up without moving it out.

Hope some of this helps you :)

Anne
