Re: Muscle Spasms - What's wrong?
Chrysannia,
I have read all of these e-mails so far and everyone has offerred wonderful advice. I am so impressed with the desire of everyone coming together to help someone in need. Wow! Very cool!
So many of the symptoms you have been having challenges with are so uncomfortably familiar to me, however, not all from necessarily the same causes. However I would like to share some input, as I have (out of necessity and desire) been studying natural medicine and pathology for many years. I have been going to an Acupuncturist/Oriental Medicine Doctor off and on for about 10 years who has truly helped save my life and took me in when, I like you, was unable to bring in any income (to sick to work or function hardly).
I was experiencing many of the same problems as you (severe pain, spasms, cramping, irritable bowels, feelings of losing my noodle, severe anxiety, twitching, feeling something tickling or moving in/on me, and oh so many more fun filled symptoms.
As it turned out, I had been initially suffering from a lot of pent up emotional problems stemming from my childhood and relationships that were manifesting as health issues (i.e. back pain, stomach problems, etc.). Then I had a terrible diet (was a chronic yoyo dieter), so my body was suffering from malnutrition and hormonal imbalances, along with Systemic Candida Albicans and
parasite problems (which I didn't find out till much later). After going to see many doctors and them not knowing what was wrong with me and telling me I was too young to be experiencing these kinds of problems, it must be all in my head; they put me on all kinds of pain killers, i.e. prednisone, anti-depressents (which made me want to go jump off a bridge, when I wouldn't have even thought of it before) etc.. After so many years of this (the drugs, diet, not knowing how to deal with my life (emotionally), etc.) My liver and kidneys became so over-toxified, they almost shut down. I was suffering from all the previously mentioned, plus jaundice, bloody stool, heart problems, asthma, inability to think clearly (I was living in a total fog), massive chronic fatigue and Fibromyalgia. You name it, I was falling to pieces.
By the time I got to my doctor, I had collapsed on his table (literally passed out), and when I came to, he said, "Let's get you better first, we'll worry about the money later". I was truly blessed!
Anyways, he helped me change my diet and began supplementing with vitamins and herbs, along with major cleansing, like everyone has been talking about here. He also helped me to balance out my energy and hormones through treatment and supplements. He put me on a anti-candida diet (I can't urge you enough to pick up the book "The Yeast Connection for Women", or even "The Yeast connection", same author (William G. Crook). There is a self check list of symptoms inside, and life transforming information). He started treating me for
parasites as well (what a scary, disgusting thought to know what was draining me of my life). I also strongly urge you to pick up "The
parasite Menace" by Skye Weintraub, N.D.
As I had gradually weaned myself off the drugs, started eating a minimum or 3 small/moderate meals a day (making healthier and more balanced choices), cleansed most of the "Crap" out of my system and got the yeast monster and many of the
parasites under control, along with faithfully supplementing my diet with vitamins and herbs (extremely important: Probiotics, good multivitamin, Calcium/magnesium complex, anti-oxidant complex and a good B-Stress complex [go onto Vitamin Shoppe.Com or to a local one in town for the best prices]), my life has done a total 180 degree shift for the better.
I have to tell you though, it has been a long painful process, and this is not to scare you, but to let you know that as you experience the cleansing/ healing process you will probably feel really crappy for a bit and this is normal (called the herxheimer effect or detox effect). The body has to purge many years worth of toxins and heal a lot of damage that has been inflicted upon it. In order for it to do this, that unfortunately means bringing all the stuff (poisons, problems, etc. up to the surface and ridding it from you body. The human body is an amazing creation and has all that is necessary to heal itself if given the proper nutrition and care. I highly recommend to help you through this healing process, that you take up medition, or Tai Chi, etc. to help you find your inner strength and balance and learn to love yourself more. You can do this....
I cannot tell you that I am 100% better yet. Unfortunately I am still dealing with some
parasite issues (though not anything like before), and I am working on resolving that as we speak, however, my overall health and life, is truly that to be thankful for. The reason I mention the Candida Albicans and parasite problem is not to guarantee that you have this, but so many people (like 80% of the population) have some degree of problems from one or both (usually they accompany each other) and they don't even know it. This is greatly due to the limited mentality and lack knowledge and acceptance from the Western medical society. If you go to a normal physician and say I suspect this or that, they will look at you like you just flew off the cookoos nest.
See, when your body, is not getting the proper nutrition, you are under stress, and or you are or have been taking medication, etc. your intestinal flora (healthy bacteria), that keeps all of these microbes, parasites, yeasts, bad bacteria, viruses, etc. under control, along with helping with your digestion and excretion become severly compromised and deficient. They (the monsters, I call them), begin to overrun your body and you would not believe the symptoms they can cause (from neurological disorders, hormonal, immune disfunction, thyroid disorders, cardiac problems, intestinal, malnutrition, liver, skin, brain, eyes, innability to think clearly, memory problems, CFS, fibromyalgia, death and the list goes on and on!).
So my point to this whole thing, is to let you know, that even though your experiences are your own, seriously taking all these factors into consideration will definitely help you over the long and hopefully short haul. It doesn't matter what your ailments are, if you take care of your body (get rid of the poisons and give it what is needs, nutrition, love, mild/moderate exercise, etc.) it will take care of you, I promise. Just give it time, be persistent, educate yourself!!!, and please have faith when it seems the darkest. If keep walking through the darkness knowing the light will soon come up and shine, you will prove yourself right. I hope this makes sense to you. I know you can find the strength and endurance within yourself to get through this. Keep yourself open to help/resources. Sometimes the answers come when we least expect it in ways that we least expect.
I support you in your journey to perfect health!
To Life!
