Re: Complications
Oh dear all those laxatives only make you worse!!! they weaken the colon and create dependency. The only laxatives I recommend are olive oil and Triphala, an Ayurvedic remedy that is very healing to the colon and uses fruit, which actually strengthens the colon.
If you aren't experiencing bleeding, then fiber fiber fiber is the way to go. If you are bleeding, then you need to cut out all protein for a week and take essential amino acids to get your protein needs met. Follow the links for "Cleanse" and "Bowel Cleansing" and you'll be introduced to the P&B shake, highly recommended for your problem.
You also need to drink 1/2 cup aloe vera juice twice a day to heal the mucosa tissue lining. That will help the pain tremendously.
The book "Juicing for Life" has an excellent nutrition-based protocol for managing Crohn's, I highly recommend it even if you don't have a juicer.
And of course it's important to find out which foods are right for your particular body type and health issues. I've found the
Blood Type Diet and Ayurvedic science, which calls body type "Dosha" very accurate for me. If you wish to know more about Ayurvedic medicine let me know and I'll send you a link or two.
Hope that helps! Good luck!
