ph balance & Vitamin C

I have had frequent UTI's. I also get kidney stones every so often and have had evidence of calcium oxalate crystals in my urine. My ph balance has been anywhere from 5.0 - 6.0. which I understand is the acidic side, right?

In my research it is recommended that I take up 5,000 mg of Vitamin C because it will increase the acidity of the urine thus creating an unfriendly environment for the growth of infection causing bacteria.

Sooo - is it not good to have an acidic ph balance??

Also, I have read that if I take too much Vitamin C it has been suggested that people who form calcium oxalate kidney stones should avoid vitamin C supplements, because vitamin C can be converted into oxalate and increase urinary oxalate. Oxalate accumulates in the blood and is not dialyzed off. Oxalate crystals can form in bones and smooth muscle, including the heart, causing muscle weakness and loss of function. Arthritis is another potential consequence of oxalate accumulation

This is so confusing. Any help would be appreciated.
