how many of you needed root canal after amalgam removal?

i had 3 Amalgams removed one week ago...and i was aware of the possibility of needing root canals after Amalgam removal, due to the fact that my cousin told me his friend went to a dentist and had Amalgam removed and needed a root canal on the same tooth. I think I might be needing root canals too.......i get throbbing headaches when i eat and sometimes i get the headaches without eating. Last night i had a headache all night....it is especially sensitive to cold stuff, i am fed up with headaches all day, do i sound like a root canal candidate based on my symptoms....actually i just went to a website that talks about symptoms for those who definitely need root canal, i dont think i need one, but if after 6 weeks i still have pain then possibly yes...how many of you actually needed root canals after your Amalgam removal....thanks for your replies
