Re: epsom salts - alternative!!!
YES! There is an alternative to using
Epsom Salts . I used
Epsom Salts for two years (and just endured the nauseating taste because it worked so well), and then I found out about using magnesium citrate in its place. Magnesium citrate is a laxative found in most pharmacies or grocery stores. It is very inexpensive and comes in a glass bottle. It takes 2 bottles for one flush.
I put the two bottles of magnesium citrate in a container and add a little water to make 3 cups. Then I put it in the refrigerator, just as I would have the
Epsom Salts . Then I take 3/4 cup, just like the instructions tell you to.
I have done this for the past 3 years, and it has always worked very well. Plus, the taste is much better. The magnesium citrate comes in several flavors. I have found the lemon-lime to be the best flavor. Cherry is a little like drinking cough syrup--yuk!
One other thing that I also do when I do the flush is to use a castor oil pack when I lie down (after taking the olive oil-grapefruit juice concoction). When I do this, the larger stones come out. There are instructions on the web for castor oil packs. I put a heating pad on top of it.
Another thing that I've found is that I put the olive oil-grapefruit juice concoction in a shaker or some type of container with a lid. I shake it vigorously before I drink it through a straw. If I don't do this, it doesn't emulsify as well and almost gags me because of the olive oil. If I shake it well, I can't even taste the olive oil. I only taste the grapefruit juice.
Hope this helps! I just did one yesterday, and I'm astounded at how well it works! I usually do it twice a year, just to keep everything clean.
