Life experiences with a JPouch of 6-years

I do not know what SCD is; however, I have the following life experience input:
Diet is a major concern with a "J" pouch. Through trial and error over the last 6-years I have found that meat does not "set well" with me. Meat is primarly digested in the colon and when the colon is removed the elimination process is drastically changed. I have found that if I eat even one bite of any type of meat that I get an anal infection with all the same characteristics as a bladder infection. I have to empty my J pouch more often with less quantity and way too much burning and discomfort. So, I quit eating meat and daily, I take large quantities (4 each) of Flora Source & Flora Zyme & Sea-A-Zyme; good bacteria & good enzymes. The result is that I am virtually pain/problem free. I eat primarly fruit, vegetables, cheese and nuts and no alcohol. At first, acting on advice from my doctors, I avoided chocolate, egg yolks, fruit and vegetables. I discovered that when combined with meat in my diet they increased the frequency of emptying my pouch back to the diareah level. I now know that they caused problems because of food combining with meat. When meat is combined with almost anything, the stomach doesn't work on digesting the meat and quickly passes it to the small intestine. The small intestine is not equipped to digest meat, that is (was)the colon's job. So the meat sits in the small intestines and ferments and the whole digestion process is compromised. When I eliminated the meat everything leveled out and all of the associated problems disappeared. It has taken me 6-years of trial and error to discover this. I now enjoy a healthy Diet of fresh fruits, vegetables nuts and cheese. This diet has enabled me to lose 30-pounds that I gained in the hospital, thanks to my doctors thinking I was too underweight for my 8th surgery.

I was told that I would be on Antibiotics the rest of my life because of a compromised immune system. That Crouch of Burning Love syndrome will make you want Antibiotics - Poo on that - My advice for anyone who is operating with a "J" or "W" pouch, no matter what your diet consist of, is to daily take more than the daily recommended dose of good bacteria and good enzymes. I found that Flora Source has the highest concentration of good bacteria per pill of any on the market. If you are plagued with what I call, Crouch-A-Crouch of Burning-Love the simple solution is to edit your diet and take more good bacteria. Then there will be no burning elimination or need for Antibiotics .

My last advice for anyone who has endured the trials and tortures of UC and losing their colon is get on a regular schedule of doing Hulda Clark 's liver flushes. Your body has been so plummeted with pain killers and antibiotics that the liver is crying out for cleansing and believe me you will be suprised at what you eliminate and how much better you will feel. This is also a fabulous immune system enhancer. Good Health and Good Life, J9
