Hi bl,
Raw garlic is good! And that's great that you can see a result on your tongue so quickly like that!
I can't tolerate raw garlic on its own. I get the burning and nausea afterward. Raw onion affects me too. I expect many people would react similarly.
If however, I chop two cloves of garlic very finely into a big raw salad I have no bad effects at all. That's how I take my daily garlic.
I noticed with juice fasting that I couldn't tolerate juiced garlic cloves unless there was apple or carrot in with the juice. It seemed to buffer me from the nasty burning sensation and resulting nausea.
My advice would be to keep taking the garlic but use it with other foods.
