It sounds like you got a problem, there! :) I have underactive thyroid, underactive parathyroid and adrenal stress, but I never would have found this out until I went to a naturopath and did the tests. I did the blood and hair analysis, and now we have a clear picture of what I need. I learned more in the first two visits than any MD ever told me. In my case, of all odd things he's balancing my liver out (with herbs, not liver flushes) and chelating out some heavy metals that showed up in the tests. The liver plays a huge role in many of the processes in the body including hormone levels and gland functions. He said that once we get the liver balanced, many of my other problems will "snap back to normal" on their own. In six months I can go back and re-evaluate or whatever. Now that sounds like someone who knows what he's talking about, and knows how to troubleshoot the human body instead of just "guessing" for years until things get worse... or the "trail of tears" approach that MD's will lead you down with pharma-drugs and no solutions. I would highly recommend it.
Do some searches on naturopathy in your area. Look in the yellow pages (could be under "naturopath" or even under the "physician" headings), do some computer searches too. In the meantime, have you tried juicing? Fresh juices will give you lots of good nutrients without the fiber problems, so you don't just get "weaker and weaker" and go into a downward spiral.
