Re: For Jonny Vegas

>I had some bloodwork done a few months back and all that showed up was some kind of inflammation marker, so I was sent to an endocrinologist to check for thyroid type issues and he couldnt really pinpoint anything

Ok the fact that they checked for thyroid shows that it is likely to be a problem. Candida people (and mercury people) often get a type of hypothyroidism (low thyroid) that doesn't show up on tests, but does respond well to treatment.

> I think I have candida...Brain fog and mental clarity issues have been problems for me for a long time, although somehow Ive done a decent job of covering them up

Brain fog is a good indicator of candida. The only other thing I know of which causes brain fog is mercury, but mercury and candida are related anyways.

> I get really cold hands and feet, get tonsil stones, circles under eyes, dry skin, bouts of anxiety etc

Cold hands/feet are signs of low thyroid. I don't know what tonsil stones are? Circles under eyes is liver congestion - it means your liver is overloaded with toxins. Again candida is a possible suspect.

Anxiety is a classic candida symptom.

There is lots you can do. A good place to start would be to find out what is wrong with you. We suspect candida, but it would be nice to confirm. There are antibody tests you can take which measure the level of candida antibodies in either your saliva or blood. There is also questionnaire, which to my mind is quite reliable (just do a google search for candida questionnaire).

Don't let the fact that you have had this a long time put you off.

Even if candida isn't your issue there is a lot you can do to improve your diet and hence your mental health. Mental health is highly dependent on good nutrition, even more so than physical health. Look into taking Fish oils for a start.

Also if you are hypothyroid (low thyroid) as I suspect then that alone will make you feel depressed.

All in all you probably need to find yourself a good nutritionist/naturopath and have them help you through all these issues, unless you want to spend a great deal of time learning and educating yourself about these things. Even then it is good to get professional help now and again.

I can't help you with specifics (where to get test x from, which brand supplement should I order etc.) because I'm in the UK and a lot of that stuff is country specific. But ask around here and on other sites and people should be able to give you recommendations on good practitioners (if you live near a big city).

Hope that helps,
JV.
