Re: Flushers might find this from pdrhealth.com interesting - again the traditional medical paradigm denies the low risk and high success rate of "alternative" remedies
Yes, you got it!
The medical establishment is reaching pretty far when they put their testing of pharmaceuticals up against the sucesses of alternatives.
here is a quote about testing in the article link you sent:
[...for testing these alternatives]"At the outset, they must assemble a large enough group of patients to eliminate the possibility that a coincidence or mistake will alter the results. If only 10 or 20 patients are tested, one mistaken report could tip the balance for or against the treatment. Prescription drugs are typically tested on thousands of people before they are deemed effective."
And just yesterday I heard that the Medical Journals Association was upset at the way results are made public. They revealed that when , in the case of the drug PAXIL , there were FOUR results of testing done, only ONE of them - the only positive result - was made public, the other three were ALL NEGATIVE.
So ya ya, they talk about veracity, but in the end it is all fluff, negative effects and no benefits from these drugs are of no concern to them. They just want to sell pills, no matter what. Bush says "no matter what" a lot too.
Regarding alternative health therapies: "Orthodox physicians regard these treatments as among the most disreputable in the entire field of health care."
That, despite the fact that the alts never harm and often achieve the desired result. Without the harm its okay to try 10 things before you find one that works for you. That "seeking" frame of mind is a big part of why its good too.
We gotta realise that much of modern medicine is just for the money. Its not done for our good, and if it harms, they have full protection somehow from the authorites who are slamming the natural cures.
People generally want to use nature, be natural, and be in tune with nature AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. We are constantly steered away from it, so "getting back to the garden" is up to us now.
