Why is that you can do all these other things yourself, but when it comes to lightening your burden you want to give it to God?

Also, who are "them" The them you're talking about is Jesus Christ, and He is one person. You don't need any man to get to God, only Jesus. I think you've been misinformed. Church is about fellowship. Naturally, you need order, tithes, and a building that needs upkeep,etc. like any other place(a home, a school, a hospital), and that requires money.
