"thall shout not kill" - who ARE the pacisists??

Ok, its Thou Shall Not Kill, but its funnier as a "spooner": "thall shout not kill"
[and it makes sense too!]

Who are the Pacifists?

Who is in favour of war, or pre-emptive strikes, of capital punishment, the use of torture, and does consider genocide for cetain peoples?

Athiests are "overwhelmingly pacifist". Religious peoples are in favour of war.

Between Athiests and Religious people polled, the Athiests are overwhelmingly more pacifist.

When defined as "would you refuse to fight in a war where your side makes a pre-emptive strike?" , Athiests are 93% refusenik, whereas only 12% of Religious people would refuse to fight in that war [EG. Iraq].

When defined as "a preferance for peace", pacifism rose in religious people to 100%.
{ k - From that, it could be [wrongly] assumed that the religious people don't have much conviction... But the real story is that religious people are just more likely to follow the leader, be it political or within their church. So thats interesting too.]

When defined as "under no circumstances would I participate in a violent act, other than basic defensive manouvers to get away from an attacker or other threat" , religious people were still 12% pacifist. Athiests were polled at 74% actually trying to live within this definition of pacifism.

Thats a very un-professional poll, but it does reflect the average opinions of the two groups.

What we see in American culture especially is that the religious are willing to support SOME parts of the 10 Commandments and bible teachings about morality and moral code, but [selectively] not support others. They also tend to follow the political lines of Republicanism.

What are they thinking that they can be against abortion and gay rights, but be in favour of wars, torture, and capital punishment? We have heard their arguements, but they are far from compelling. Some of their rhetoric is so skewed that they had to get the Supreme Court to verify it, as if getting an authority to come to the same conclusions gives it some credibiility.

[Not to me - all authority figures are "suspiciously tainted" after the immoral actions I've seen from Priests, Cops, Teachers Doctors and Politicians].[in other words, authority does not get instant credibility just because they are an authority, not anymore].


Athiests are showing themselves to be the most responsible group. Thats because they are courageous enough to QUESTION authority and doctrine. If this world collapses, it will be due to religious and right wing people [nearly the same group, the poll shows] and their support for the military-industrial oil-based cabal dominating the world now. Dominating is the key word - these people tend to follow the heaviest footsteps, and the OILY-GARCHY is it right now.
