if you have silk or velvet, or fine linen stuff esp the turn inside out will keep the silk more naturally glossy on outside and lessen risk of iron burn /heat marks etc.. sticking

if you iron really delicate stuff..,
consider a slightly dampened clothe / thin, like an old clean bed sheet square,
and lay it between the iron and article of clothing
press straight down to a 10 count about and remove iron

(no movement of iron.. just straigt down , press. and lift)

this is good for really delicate stuff.

also if washing delicate stuff/ in a machine,
throw it in a pillowcase..
esp stuff like a kids furry toy.. will clean it without all that lint going everywhere
and the fur (after drying in machine will not be all matted, but fluffy and clean.
