Whenever anything is bothering me, there is invariably something wrong with me. It never fails that when I take an honest account of the unhappy circumstances, it’s my reaction to it that breads discontentment and unhappiness, and oddly my reactions are the only aspect of the deal that I can change. “I am the problem”
But if I just leave it at that, I got nothing. I have to remember that I am also the solution. By tapping that “unexpected inner resource” the Big Book talks about, I got a shot at being both the problem and the solution all in one package. Now that is good news!
