Re: Desiderata

Thanks finallyfaith…
It is an old poem written by a guy named Max Ehrmann in the 1920’s
Back in the day, the late 60’s I was a man on a chemical mission of enlightenment. Setting aside the grand stupidly of that mission, that poem was part of my story. I always loved it.

Even in the bad old days of my sorted path, the ones that beat me into a position of reasonableness, the wisdom and simple truth found in that gave me strength.

We seek the truth. We don’t always find it right away, sometimes we don’t recognize it for what it is, sometimes we confuse it for something else, but if we seek, we shall find.

This path we walk is at the same time so much more than I hoped it would be, and less than i feared it was.
Remember…

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Richard
