God save us from ourselves...
or maybe i should rephrase that and say...
"God save us from those that would save us"... lol... ;-)
many times... the most dangerous person in the world is he that knows absolutely nothing about that which he wishes to share with others... and has nothing helpful to offer... yet with such a burning desire to be helpful... that he might often inadvertantly offer advice that could literally kill the persons he wishes to help...
"ignorance is not bliss"... and "what you don't know can kill you"...
kinda like a person that knows absolutely nothing about life saving... and cannot swim... yet jumps into the deep water to save a drowning man...
(i would imagine that the above has probably happened)...
which brings to mind the closing paragraphs in the book of ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS...
in the chapter titled..."A VISION FOR YOU"... p. 164
Our book is meant to be suggestive only. We realize we know only a little. God will constantly disclose more to you and to us. Ask Him in your morning meditation what you can do each day for the man who is still sick. The answers will come, if your own house is in order. But obviously you cannot transmit something you haven't got. See to it that your relationship with Him is right, and great events will come to pass for you and countless others. This is the Great Fact for us.
Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.
May God bless you and keep you - until then.
did you happen to notice that one line that states:
"BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU CANNOT TRANSMIT SOMETHING YOU HAVEN'T GOT"...
