I have a question....

I apologize for being kinda harsh, but are all filippino families taught that family doesn't help one another? Are they all taught that going to college is a waste of money and time, and isn't worth anything but trouble? Am I the only filippino family that refuses to help me achieve things I want to do in my life? I am only half and have been born and raised in America... so does that have anything to do with it?
