I can still remember my first day six three years ago. I was in a grocery store buying more lemons and all of a sudden I was tasting a Sonic Bacon Cheeseburger. I could not smell it or feel it in my stomach, but I was tasting it. Bacon cheeseburgers are not even a part of my diet, the only time I tried one was when it was on sale. It was such a bizarre experience, and it took every ounce of will power to buy those lemons and get back home. Later, I read that when the colon is being cleansed, that is the gunk is bing loosened that chemical remains of past meals can be released and we can experience the sensation of those foods, the article called them "food spirits". Sometimes I wonder if the extreme cravings we get when fasting aren't real craving, just the food spirits being released. Another time I woke up at 2 am tasting Velveeta cheese, I don't even like Velveeta, but my mother used it all the time in her delicious macaroni and cheese. Was that a food spirit from childhood? Makes me wonder how much old gunk most of us are carrying around in our body.
