I have done a lot of fasting, both the Master-Cleanse
and juice fasting, including a couple of very long (30, 60 day) fasts, both supervised by my excellent naturopath.
Very long fasts can cause serious metabolic changes (I lost hair for two months starting two months after my 60 day fast). I was lucky to have my naturopath, who explained these changes and that the hair loss would stop (it did).
I believe juice fasting may be a better long term choice for you, being more supportive nutritionally, and every bit as cleansing. The downside is it is more work, shopping, preparing and juicing
fruits and vegetables every day.
You can combine the Master-Cleanse
with juice fasting very nicely, say 20 MC, 20 juice etc.
I work out every fasting day and feel excellent. The only difference I really notice is during cardio my heart rate goes higher and takes longer to return to normal. My strength is excellent.
